Resolution Time

Resolution time is the total elapsed time between a request arriving and it being fully and finally resolved.

Example

A billing dispute is acknowledged within an hour but takes three days to fully resolve once the finance team investigates and issues a correction.

Why it matters

Resolution time is what a client actually experiences as "how long this took," distinct from how quickly they got an initial acknowledgment.

Limits and cautions

Averaging resolution time across very different request types can hide that simple requests are slow or complex ones are fast, obscuring the real pattern.

Relevance to Stelaah

Stelaah's task and request tracking can record when an item opens and closes, giving resolution time a concrete basis where that data is tracked.
