Batch Size (Work)
Batch size is the amount of work grouped together and moved through a process as one unit before the next group starts.
Example
Reviewing five client deliverables together once a week is a larger batch than reviewing each one the day it's finished; the smaller batch surfaces feedback sooner.
Why it matters
Smaller batches move through a process faster and surface problems sooner, at the cost of more frequent handling overhead.
Limits and cautions
Batching too small can drown a process in per-unit overhead, so the right size depends on the cost of handling each batch, not a universal minimum.
