A stakeholder map identifies everyone with an interest in a project's outcome and how much influence and interest each one has.
Example
Before a major rollout, a team lists the client's decision-maker, day-to-day contact, and end users separately, since each needs different information and involvement.
Why it matters
Mapping stakeholders before a project starts catches the person whose buy-in is actually required, before their absence derails a decision later.
Limits and cautions
