Choose Plain text
The preset decodes common entities, converts common HTML breaks and list items, removes tag syntax, simplifies Markdown, normalizes punctuation, replaces tabs, and tightens repeated spaces.
Review meaningful structure
Check headings, code fences, tables, checklists, numbered steps, citations, and links. Plain text can retain the words and destinations, but it cannot retain every visual relationship.
Copy with a fallback
Use Copy clean text when clipboard writing is allowed. If permission is denied, select the read-only result manually. The cleaner never discards the result on a clipboard error.

Plain text conversion is lossy by definition. It can preserve readable content and link destinations, but it cannot recreate the full semantics of a complex table, diagram, mathematical layout, or code indentation after those structures are flattened.
